FDA Alert on Dietary Supplements
by Anai Rhoads 23 June 2003 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to consumers last week due to a prescription drug found in selected dietary supplements. The drug is said to contain tadalafil, which poses a problem in those with hypotension. The interaction between nitrates and tadalafil may cause a sudden plunge in blood pressure that may result in death. The FDA requests that you not take any of the following:
Due to the serious nature of this case, the FDA's Office of Criminal Investigations issued search Federal warrants against NVE, Inc. and Hi-tech Friday. They were served at the head offices in Georgia and New Jersey after the discovery was made.
