The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Monday that Pet Pantry International will recall certain lots of the popular meat based dry dog food known as Maintenance Diet for possible Mad Cow Disease contamination. This coming on the heels of Canada's recent discover of Mad Cow Disease in the country. In addition to the Maintenance Diet formula, the FDA is asking for consumers to examine the bags of Beef With Barley. The expiration dates to look out for are as follows:
Although the Pet Pantry International is located Nevada, USA., the cow that tested positive for Mad Cow Disease was of the livestock suspected in the dog food listed above. The fifty pound bags were originally produced in Canada by Champion Pet Food. Champion is located in the city of Morinville in Alberta.
