AnaiRhoads.org - A nationwide recall by McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals was announced Wednesday for Children's Motrin. The product may contain adult acetaminophen.
McNeil is asking consumers to review any grape flavoured Children's Motrin they may have in their home that has Exp 1/06 JAM108 on the label. The Children's Motrin contains purple tablets which give off a grape scent, while the eight-hour extended release Tylenol Geltabs are red and white.
The lot was distributed nationwide to wholesale and retail merchants between 05 February and 01 April 2004. Those with the product in their home are asked to dispose of it immediately.
If you suspect your child has taken the adult acetaminophen, or your child exhibits vomiting, call your doctor right away. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and liver failure are seen in children who overdose on acetaminophen.
Questions may be directed the McNeil's Consumer Relationship Centre toll-free number at 1-800-962-5357.
