What are your views on the newest immigration debate?
"Illegal immigrants take jobs that you don't want anyway. They are
employed illegaly and paid and treated poorly. In fact, check out the
workers at a factory farm for example." Jess.
"They sneak over and then expect us to accept them with open arms?" Dwayne
"Sure, this country was built on immigration, and each new culture that
joins us has something else to contribute. At the same time, people who decide
they wish to be part of America need to do so in the proper way. It's not
impossible to become a citizen. A few hundred dollars, a test, and a few years
of waiting, and bingo, you're a naturalized, and your future children are
automatically U.S. citizens. The fact that so many want to get all the benefits
of citizenship without going through the process is sad evidence of our American
attitude of "do a little, get a lot" spreading far beyond our borders and beyond
our control." says Nina.
"Since when did a human being become illegal?" says Dan
"I'm not happy with the border. It needs to be fixed.", Brett
"They all need to be here legally. They need cards like everyone else."
"If something isn't done, more Mexicans will be exploited by U.S. corporations that threaten to have them deported if they don't work for free or for small amounts of cash." Yiang
"If the temp visa bill goes through then it may help all of us by allowing them to work and using them as cheap labor so that we don't end up paying an arm and a leg for a tomato or something." Diane
"This country is planning on making all new babies born on this soil non-U.S. citizens. That is just messed up!!!" says Sonya
"We are already outsourcing jobs overseas yet have to contend with people sneaking in and taking more of our jobs. I have a problem with that, sorry." No-name.
