AnaiRhoads.org - A 26-song "Rock Against Bush" cd was released by Fat Wreck Chords Tuesday. Among the bands who lent a hand to the project include Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag, Ataris, Descendents, Ministry, the Offspring, Social Distortion, and Sum 41.
"This compilation is not about who's a sellout or who's more punk; it's about uniting against a common enemy," states Fat Mike of punk band NOFX.
26 songs include 17 previously unreleased tracks. The compilation also includes a bonus DVD that provides key political information along with music videos. Trailers for the documentaries "Unprecedented" and "Uncovered" were added along with a piece from Grammy-nominated comedian David Cross.
Justin Sane from Anti-Flag spoke soberly, "Our brothers and sisters of this human race are dying for George Bush's friends in corporate America who profit from the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the U.S. orchestrated coup in Haiti. This may not bother you now, but when someone you love is shipped off to Iraq to fight for greed, or you find your feet in a pair of army boots in the desert, it will."
The cd is being sold for $8.95 retail. So far, there is not a set date for volume II's release.
