"If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich." -- John F. Kennedy

End Hunger and Poverty

Disintegration

29 October 2006

by Katz Freed, Contributing Writer for AnaiRhoads.org

AnaiRhoads.org - I was shocked to see the passage of the Bill on Military Tribunals,(Bill #6166) by this Congress. I suppose that "shocked" is a mild way to express my emotions, because my emotions are so strong that I don't know how to express it, in words.

All my life, I have held this nation in the highest esteem, because we have this Constitution and Bill of Rights which outlines our national identity, ethical code, and moral authority. All that is lost. This Bill endemnifies the men and woman who have committed war crimes, and crimes against humanity from legal prosecution, among other things. It redefined what is torture, as the USA interprets the 4th Geneva Conventions.

By passing this Bill, it is clear that the perpetrators of war crimes are aware that they are criminals. They know what they are, and they don't want to face a court of law, for what they have done. By promoting this Bill, they are admitting to the world, that they could be prosecuted. When that morsel of self knowledge sinks in, Americans should understand this Bill, in it's entirety, is an admission against interests. Because Congress passed this Bill, on their way out of the door, it means that Congress is complicit, and is acting in a criminal manner, as they did not do this with debate, or with public opinion; they did it, and left town.

We no longer have the right of Habeus Corpus. The Separation of Powers doctrine is now obsolete, as this executive branch is the judge, jury, and executioner. There is no oversight by our Judicial system, nor are the protections of the Bill of Rights applicable. US Citizens, which are deemed by this executive to be hostile, (mainly to the radical policies of this PNAC cartel), can be held indefinately, and denied the right to confront the evidence, or the witnesses, in non-Judicial courts.

At the same time, we have word that this executive branch is building concentration camps, provided by, none other than Halliburten. We know that Mr. Cheney used the criminal legal system to imprison a man who verbally told him off. Now, that man has filed a 42 USC section 1983 lawsuit against Mr. Cheney for depriving him of his Constitutional rights, including his 1st Amendment right to tell Mr. Cheney what he thinks about him, and his policies. So, is this the man, Richard Cheney, whom we trust to have unlimited power? This same man shot his own friend in the face, while standing close enough to impact the man's heart with birdshot pellets. We watched this victim apologize to the perpetrator on national TV. Doesn't this mean that this victim was afraid of Mr. Cheney, on a personal level? What kind of people are in Washington DC?

People who cover criminal actions like war crimes? People who cover criminal actions like crimes against humanity? People who torture prisoners, in ways that make medieval times look tame? People who have held juveniles, and tortured them, in front of their parents? People who launch two wars of aggression for the benefit of private contractors, with insider links to the top levels of our executive branch? People who shoot their friends in the face, with birdshot?

But, the insult to our republic last week was not the worst of the DC madness. This week, we find out that one of the men on the committee to insure safety of our children, is a pedophile, and there are many others, who are just as perverse, who are still holding office, like Barney Frank. Reports have resurfaced about the Franklin lawsuit, and the ring of child victims that were used by some powerful men, in Washington for tricks and treats. Some are acting like they never knew, but they did know. If they would cover for this level of disgusting crime, what else will they cover for? It would seem that most people can agree that child molesters are evil, and do harm to children, but not certain people in Congress.

I am watching a total disintegration of all morals and ethics, in Washington DC. They are admitting it, and yet, the Public seems to be complacent. Was it so long ago that the American public was morally outraged by a simple affair, with two consenting adults?

How, from where we started, did we get here? I am watching the end of an empire that didn't last so long. When a government has lost it's moral authority, it has nothing left but totalitarian despotism.
