Pregnancy After Several Abortions

Dear Anai,

Can several abortions throughout the years affect future pregnancies?

Thank you,

Hopefullygoodnews

Dear Hopefullygoodnews,

Yes, abortions can affect future pregnancies. The problem with frequent abortions, is that the method weakens the cervix each time. This may cause future miscarriages or early labour.

If you have had several abortions, ask your doctor to stitch your cervix after you find out that you are pregnant.

When you are going through labour, the doctor can remove the stitches to allow for the birth of your baby.

Hope this helps! Thank you for writing!
